IIRC California already has ~480,000 regulations, **far** more than any other state. The proposal described in the base note is just one more example of stupid government over-reach.

Common Sense would be to retire or more regulations for every new one enacted.
Thanks for your observation on this, Dave. When I was a State Senator, I introduced a bill requiring a cost/benefit calculation for every proposed new regulation in an area already regulated by the federal government. Businesses (and the jobs they create) often leave our state due to a hostile environment created by regulations that exceed the standards applied to all the other states. (The bill was defeated in committee.)
