We tried this in our HOA. On our ballot for Board of Directors were 2 men and 1 woman. The women got together and gave 3 votes
)first choice, second choice, and third choice) to the woman. She proved to be a disaster (no sexism intended), we abandoned the preferential system and voted her out ASAP.
In primaries there are often several candidates. The negotiating especially among the weaker candidates would be enormous both to elect a specific candidate but also to position themselves for future benefit.
We have got to stop figuring out ways to beat the system. The problem is that Republicans are iirrevant and however we try we can’t jiggle the system. If we got our act together we wouldn’t have to do this stuff.
Not to sound puritanical but the intent of COMMONSENSE was to identify the best candidate, not get into this nonsense.
