When I was in grade school, a student once copied another’s behavior simply because “someone else did it.” The teacher responded by asking, “If someone jumps off a bridge, does that mean you should too?”
I see this current issue in the same light. It feels like a reactionary move, imitating another state rather than exercising independent judgment. In my view, such actions diminish our credibility as a state.
