Every day Trump and the Republican party are either diminishing or completing taking away my constitutional rights as an American citizen. Voting for California’s proposed redistricting plan is my way of standing up to an authoritarian president and supporting Democracy. Texas is wrong in adopting their redistricting plan to accommodate Trump. I supported California’s original amendment for the redistricting plan. I even tried to get on the committee to set lines. I fully supported the concept and will so again in the future. Times have changed. Trump and the Republican party no longer believe Democracy is good for America. I will do whatever I can to keep Democracy alive. Voting for this plan is a step in the right direction.

I agree. Gloves are off fighting in regards to this issue because democracy is on the line and ultimately voters in CA decide. It’s also temporary, which is important.
