I absolutely abhor the idea of gerrymandering. I think we should start drawing a box by beginning the upper left corner of each state and draw a diagonal line until the computer says we’ve captured the right number of people and keep doing that again and again till we get the right number of districts. But since that’s not the way we do it and other states are very deliberately gerrymandering to pick their voters we’re in the unenviable position of having to fight fire with fire. I don’t like it, but I think the governor is doing the only thing he can.
