Leave the existing non-partison redistricting committee olone

by | Aug 25, 2025 | Redistricting

We finally got a law passed to remove the political parties from the redistricting process. This is the ethical way to do redistricting process. I think that we should continue using this committee no matter what other states are doing.

I agree with you. It is difficult for me to support our hard-fought-for independent redistricting process only some of the time. It was a good reform, and it’s better for California than what is being proposed now. The only argument the other way is that to do good for the nation, we have to accept bad for California. And it IS bad for California. By design, it creates districts that are less responsive to our own local conditions.
